Timeline
Build a chronological framework for your world's history.
Creating Events
Each timeline event has:
- Title — event name
- Date — year (use negative for BCE), month, day
- Description — rich text description
- Color — visual marker on the timeline
- Importance — 1–5 star rating
Date Precision
Choose how precise the date is:
- Exact — specific year, month, day
- Approximate — circa a year
- Season — spring/summer/autumn/winter of a year
- Unknown — date not determined
Event Ranges
Events can have both start and end dates, creating a range (ideal for wars, reigns, eras).
Linking Events
Connect events to:
- Entities — participants in the event
- Notes — documentation about the event
- Map — location where the event took place
- Other events — cause/effect chains
Eras & Lines
- Eras — group events by historical period (Ancient Era, Modern Era)
- Timeline lines — separate parallel timelines (Main Story, Side Stories)
- Categories — color-coded tags for filtering
Scale
Zoom the timeline by year, decade, century, or millennium.
